Jong-Wook Ban is a General Internist and practices adult primary care in Washington state, USA. He received MSc and DPhil in Evidence-Based Based Health Care from the University of Oxford after conducting a series of projects exploring the causes and implications of research waste in cardiovascular clinical prediction rule studies. He joined the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences in Bergen, Norway as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in 2022.
Jong-Wook’s current work is aimed at developing practical methods to implement the evidence-based research approach that can be adopted by various stakeholders of research such as funding agencies, policymakers, and researchers. He is interested in incorporating the best available evidence, expertise of clinicians, and patients’ preferences when assessing the value of research proposals using Bayesian meta-analysis, Markov Chain Monte Carlo simulation, and decision analysis.
