Daeria Lawson is a PhD candidate in Health Research Methodology at the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact at McMaster University. Her primary research focus is on the evaluation of methodological studies in health research (i.e. meta-research). She is leading the development of a new reporting guideline, the METhodological study ReportIng Checklist (METRIC) to help streamline the way that these studies are reported.
She is also a trainee at the Division of Rheumatology, Toronto Western Hospital with research interests in patient outcomes, trial design, statistical methods including missing data techniques, longitudinal models for prognosis, and the impacts of patient education and physical activity in arthritis. She is a peer reviewer for several epidemiology-oriented journals, as well as a member of the American College of Rheumatology, the Arthritis Health Professions Association (Canada), the Canadian Society for Epidemiology & Biostatistics, and an associate member of the Statistical Society of Canada.
