Livia Puljak is a full professor at the Catholic University of Croatia and Head of its Center for Evidence-Based Medicine and Health Care. She obtained her MD and PhD degrees from the University of Split School of Medicine. Subsequently, she was trained in the United States, Italy, and Canada. Her research interests are evidence-based medicine, research methodology, clinical epidemiology, and pain. She has published more than 200 research manuscripts and mentored 50 defended diploma, MSc, and PhD theses. She is a peer reviewer for multiple scholarly journals and funding agencies.
Prof. Puljak was the founder and inaugural director of Cochrane Croatia, where she managed a project for translating Cochrane plain language summaries into Croatian language for years, and currently serves as a Knowledge Translation Coordinator. In 2017, she received Cochrane’s Chris Silagy prize for her contributions to the activities of Cochrane. She is actively promoting evidence-based medicine concepts to healthcare professionals and lay audiences.
