Rieke van der Graaf

Dr. Rieke van der Graaf is an associate professor of Medical Ethics at the UMC Utrecht, Netherlands. Her research focuses on research ethics, and in particular on 1. inclusion and fair treatment of potentially vulnerable patients; 2. global justice, and 3. the ethics of innovative trial designs.

She is a member of the UMC Utrecht Research Ethics Committee and its Hospital Ethics Committee. From 2012-2016 she has been the Secretary to the Working Group on the Revision of the CIOMS international ethical guidelines (2016). Currently, she is a contractor for WHO, revising the UNAIDS/WHO Ethical considerations in biomedical HIV prevention trials (2012).
